| Resumo | The expansion of areas for cultivation of sugarcane in the state of São Paulo and its impact on the environment are factors that deserve attention in the light of burning caused the harvest season, as well as the improper use of soil. Remote Sensing and processing of satellite imagery are alternatives in the mapping and estimation of areas for cultivation of sugarcane. In the area of study, Mirante do Paranapanema-SP is highlighted by agrarian conflicts, and in agribusiness, which recently has been expanding the areas under cultivation of sugarcane in terms of deploying sugarcane. Accordingly, the objective of this work is mapping of areas for cultivation of sugarcane in Mirante do Paranapanema using images from the satellite CBERS-2B and techniques of digital image processing to estimate the area under sugarcane in settlements of Agrarian Reform. For validation of the statement of sugarcane was used a mosaic of images in the camera HRC/CBERS-2B, resulting in a kappa index of 0,78. The resulting map allowed to view the spatial distribution of areas of planting sugarcane and shows that farmers in the settlements of Agrarian Reform has been adopting the cultivation of sugarcane crops in their replacing some cultures. The mapping of areas of sugar cane can make allowances in the supervision and control of fires during the harvest of sugar cane, as well as the establishment of guidelines governing the cultivation of the crop farm avoid inappropriate. | |||
